The words you use, to yourself and others, can make a tremendous difference in both your experience of life and results you generate. Kabbalah explains that G-d creates physical reality with words, and so do we.

The Easiest Way to Overcome Vanity

Vanity - it’s easy to mask, easy to forget, and easy to justify. We hide it behind dignity and poise. The sins connected to this weakness aren't quite as severe as those associated with pride, gluttony, and lust. But it can eventually lead up to some serious problems. And it can keep us from becoming an instrument of Christ...

Good News from Mars (Part 1)

When we think today in terms of ancient Greece, certainly the people and culture associated with Athens comes immediately to mind. It was the place where the Hellenic spirit achieved its most glorious expression. The most diverse people from the Nile to the Indus, from the Black Sea to the Persian Gulf, came under the spell of the Greek spirit.

Protector

Proverbs 19:21 it says Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. What a man desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

Gracious Forgetfulness

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. --GALATIANS 3:27, RSV I was thanking the Father today for His mercy. I began listing the sins He’d forgiven. Choosing Peace, One Shift at a Time

It doesn’t matter what magazine or newspaper you pick up these days, there it is! the evidence of violence; the killing of innocent people, the terror of aggression and destruction. How do we, as caring, compassionate, conscious people maintain our inner peace in the face of war? Is it responsible to turn from the glaring headlines, close our eyes, go within to connect with that place of inner peace? What if those headlines have stirred up our visceral fear reactions and we are disturbed and angry? When outer circumstances create worry, helplessness and judgment how do we shift our inner attention so that we send peaceful thoughts, rather than more anger and hatred?

Sole Work - Walking the Spiritual Path

For the past several years I have struggled with getting (and staying) fit. Ok I admit it, the struggle has been longer than just a few years. As a kid, instead of playing nicely with the girls, I fought with the neighborhood boys. I attempted to join their fun and received new scars weekly in bloody games of soccer. I was always the last one picked to play on the kickball team and, as the catcher of my 5th grade softball team, I pummeled the pitcher in the head with a fast ball. Uncoordinated in team sports, I succeeded only at baton twirling which was fun but I barely broke a sweat. After failures in group sports I thought I'd try running so, a few years ago I attempted to train for a half marathon. I ended up limping home in tears and thought I’d never exercise again. (I couldn't even MOVE after that, much less exercise!)

Candle Therapy: Relax, Refresh, Energize

There is much talk of aromatherapy and scents. Everywhere you look, scents are being added to product lines. Traditionally, we see them in body lotions, shampoos and other topical skin care products. Even a well-known toothpaste company now makes vanilla and orange scented toothpaste. Big name marketers know the power of scent.
