Present-day skateboards are actually engineering marvels, but they have been so refined that they are quite simplistic by today's high-technology standards. Perhaps this is why they work so well in that they keep it simple; a founding principle of good solid engineering. There is not much to a skateboard once you have the board, the trucks and the wheels, everything is pretty straight forward. The boards are made out of plastic, would or composite materials. The trucks are made out of combination of alloys and the wheels are made out of urethane.

Past, Present and Future of Skateboarding
Well believe it or not historical accounts of skateboarding around the turn of the 1900s are in the record. Although they were mostly made of wooden baskets nailed to a 2 X 4 or plank, these concoctions do make up the precursors to the modern day skateboard. We Finally Got The Keys To Ecrins Mountain Lodge
Here is a first glimpse of what Alex and Will hope to be their new home and chalet just outside the ski resort of Les Deux Alpes. As seems to have been the case since they started down this road nothing is going to plan. They were supposed to be in the Chalet by the middle of October, but thanks to some particularly inefficient banks and outrageously late decisions form the Mayor's office they're still waiting.

Alpine Skiing
It was Sondre Norheim who invented ski binding so that skiers were able to turn while moving downhill and Slalom was born. Slalom is also known as Telmark skiing. Sondre Norheim is considered to be the father of modern day skiing. Using the new maneuvering tactics, skiers could now move from one location to another. In the beginning skiing had a more practical use with people using skis to get to one place to another through snow. However, the binding changed all this. It allowed skiers more freedom of movement on skis and soon skiing changed from practical to fun to challenge to sport.
