I was raised in a good and loving home, but it took life to teach me that kindness and caring rule over power and greed, that it is better to save than to destroy, that revenge will only bring sorrow and regret, and forgiveness can free your very soul.

I thought I had always tried to be a good person, so why did it seem like my life was so unfortunate? My first reaction was to get angry with God and blame him for all my problems, but when that did nothing to help the situation what I came to realize was this, all that goes wrong in the world can be attributed to man, not God, and although it would be easy for me to blame others or even God, ultimately I had no one to fault but myself. It was the choices I had made that had brought me down the path I was traveling. Even if it seemed some of the choices made, I thought, were for the right reasons. They were my choices, no one else’s.

I started to realize that it is the small things which usually go unnoticed each day that make life worth living.

I urge everyone to take a minute from time to time each day and just appreciate what you have, and transfer your focus from the bad things in your life to the great ones. We all will have our trying times while here on this earth and if we let it, the world, will really give us a hard run. So its up to each of us individually to not let the small, yet so very important treasures get away from us and go unnoticed. We must take the time to cherish the beauty around us, our loved ones, or even just showing some small act of kindness to another can help to make the difference in their horrible day. Go out and make your mark today because tomorrow may be too late. We all need to start paying attention to the things that really matter to us, because someday they will be the only things that ever did, only it will be too late.
