    Graduate School: Should You Go?
You don’t need to go to graduate school. This is true. You’ve got your college degree and this will help you maintain a roomy house in a nice neighborhood. But what will a graduate degree do for you?First, there is a little more money. Lifetime earnings average $234,000 more than an individual with just a bachelor’s degree. But if you got a doctorate, then increase the amount by $504,000 above the master’s level. Doctoral education along with the apprenticeship work can take 10 years or longer. And the 10 years are some of the most grueling work you’ll ever do. So let’s focus on just the graduate degree. Whew.Another reason for obtaining a graduate degree is to make
In most cases, part-time employees present a special challenge when it comes to motivation. They do the "grunt" work, have little career choices, are often focused on other goals outside of your organization (college, hobbies, etc.), and are treated as outsiders by full-time employees. So what’s a manager to do? How do we turn our part-time employees into outstanding employees?

The following are eight proven techniques to motivate your part-time employees:

    1. Orient them properly.

Take time to describe job duties and go over what is allowed and not allowed, e.g., personal telephone calls, use of organization property, etc. Avoid confusion by designating one person to orient and give assignments to part-timers. This will eliminate the "well he told me one thing and she said something else" situation that can lead to a demoralized part-time employee.

    SFI: Home Business Reality
The reality of home business ifs that not everyone makes it. In fact I knew from my research that 95% are bound to fail. I decided I was going to look for something free. I didn’t want to waste my money if the statistics showed that more than likely I would fail. I found SFI it was free to join so I signed up.When I joined SFI and started as a free member I was skeptical about the reality of home business. I found out that I wouldn't make any money unless I became an EA -meaning you either have to make so much in sales every month or you buy so much every month. Even though I was skeptical about the reality of home business I decided to get my EA status the easy way and buy a $3

So, You Want To Be An Entrepreneur?
While every entrepreneur has their own motivation for going into business, based on my experience the following statements reflect a valid representative sampling of the most common reasons; to create more income; to create a better life for their family; to work their own hours; to be their own boss; to have economic freedom, and; to live the American Dream. The reasons noted above are certainly good reasons, and, perhaps in an idealistic fashion, the right reasons to go into business. However while keeping these enthusiastic ideals in mind it is perhaps even more beneficial to examine the other side of what happens to many who embark upon the path of entrepreneurship.Have y

Advertising: Is There Nothing New Under the Sun?
My wife and I were cruising around the antique shops in Twin Falls when I came upon a book published in 1912 by the A.W. Shaw Company, Chicago, New York. The title is How to Write Advertisements that Sell. The book is part of a series of “how to” books and the author or authors are not revealed. The First Chapter of the book has a clever little table that all of you experts probably already know about. I hadn’t seen it before so I was impressed.I’m not allowed to put illustrations in my articles. I’ve put the table on the Internet and you can see it at http://www.secret-cash.com/chart.html.According to the text, the question that must be answered for any a

Get Started Your Career In Nursing
Qualified nurses are in highly demand in the health care market. Throughout the years, the field of nursing has brought millions and millions of people above the average paying jobs. There has never a more exciting time to join the nursing profession. As a nurse it is possible to work in, among others, hospitals, clinics, nursing and residential homes, occupational health services, voluntary organizations that run hospices or residential care and the pharmaceutical industry. Nurses also work in the prison service, university education, on leisure cruise ships or for the armed forces.Nurse QualificationIt is possible to take either a diploma or degree course

    2. Find Out What Motivates Them.

Ask your part-timers questions so that you can find out how to best motivate them. In my teambuilding and leadership programs, I discuss the "Sykes Seven Questions of Motivation" that you need to have the answers to if you are truly motivating your employees. One question you can ask your part-timer is, "What do you want to do in the future?" By asking the question, you can relate their future goals to your present needs. For example, the part-timer says he/she wants to be an artist. Listen, acknowledge, and embrace the answer and realize that you can possibly apply their skills now by allowing them to create recognition posters (I know you are already doing these, right?), work on the organization newsletter, or any other art project that will benefit your organization.

If you don’t ask, you won’t know what the hidden talents of these part-timers are.
