    Customer Service 101
I can't be the only one who has noticed the decline in customer service these days. It is a very sad thing. I have stopped shopping at many stores because of how I was treated. I believe that customer service is one of, if not the most important ingredient to any successful business. Here are some basic tips to help you earn your customer's trust and repeated business.- Never Argue with a Customer! No matter what, the customer is ALWAYS right. Do what it takes to make them come back. If you go the extra mile with a disgruntled customer, they will walk away happy and sha

How to Restore Customer Satisfaction after Customer Service Failure
A customer service failure, simply defined, is customer service performance that fails to meet an individual’s expectations. Typically, when a service failure occurs, a customer will expect to be compensated for the inconvenience in the form of any combination of refunds, credits, discounts or apologies. The success of such customer service recovery efforts is determined by the individual’s expectations and perceptions of the organization. Two key elements impact any effort to restore customer satisfaction: the strength of customer relationships and the severity of service failure.<
Have you ever noticed that some of the great stuff you want to show up in your business is not easily measured? It's easy to measure quantities, of money, production, sales calls, numbers of time the phone rings before it's answered... Because it's easier, businesses tend to default to measuring and managing only straightforwardly quantifiable things.

Quantifiable stuff has to be measured in business, it's true. You'd be failing in your accountability to your bosses, your bankers and your shareholders if you didn't do it. And by and large most business leaders make a pretty good job of measuring the results these people wish to see.

But these alone don't tell you that everything you want to happen is happening. What about teamwork, values, customer service, people's attitudes? Of course, if a thing is worth doing, the value will fall to the bottom line - eventually. However, bottom-line results take longer to show up -

Where's Me Pot of Gold and Lucky Charms?
We already know this from our history books. If you want to make money today, you must first look back in time to the first time in history that a large portion of our country all tried to get rich at the same time in the same place. The first discovery of gold was at Sutter's Mill by James W. Marshall in 1948, Mr. Sutter's mill contractor and builder. This discovery sprang thousands upon thousands of ambitious individuals to get rich which we refer to as the "Gold Rush."As you can imagine, these people were not that much different from the thousands of new entrepreneurs trying to g

    Business Security
This article examines business security and provides some practical advise on protecting your business. Unfortunately as any new business knows it isn't long before opening that the first break and enter occurs or another security issue raises it ugly head. Dealing with insurance companies reveals that often the business person is own their own, particularly if the business is targetted numerous times. The more successful your business, the more interest it tends to generate amongst low lifes, and once they have struck they will be back again unless you do something about it.In ord

    What is an LLC ?
LLC is an abbreviation for Limited Liability Company, which describes one way in which a business owner can choose to register his or her organization. The specific rules that govern the founding and maintenance of an LLC vary from state to state, but in general an LLC is a company that exists for the duration of a partnership between two or more businesspeople, whereas a full corporation is an independent entity that can have a rotating leadership. Although an LLC is not as permanent as a corporation, it can help simplify the process of doing business, and can offer some financial protect

    Finding Work at 40 Plus
They say that life begins at 40 (whoever the proverbial ‘they’ are), and they’re right, it does. It begins to go downhill fast! That’s if you happen to find yourself unemployed in the 21st century at 40 plus. I found it a demoralizing nightmare looking for work because about 90% of my job applications didn’t even get replies. That’s diddly squat, zero, zilch. The thing that hurt the most was that there were plenty of vacancies around, but it appears they had already made their mind up on the age range. It’s not legal to specify age preference where I come from but it doesn’t mean emplo
lues, customer service, people's attitudes? Of course, if a thing is worth doing, the value will fall to the bottom line - eventually. However, bottom-line results take longer to show up - they are ‘lagging indicators' of business success. By the time you've missed your revenue target, it's by definition too late to do something about it, this time around. And it's sometimes possible in the short term to produce apparently good bottom-line results by using inappropriate business practices, which will in the longer term actually damage your business.

So how do You Measure the ‘Other Stuff'?

How do you measure that you are making progress in all those good things you instinctively know are at the root of a successful, satisfying, sustainable business? It may seem that these things cannot be measured, but if you ‘know it when you see it', then you are using a set of criteria. You might dismiss it
