However, what is the perceived spiritual danger that may befall those women who have their own biological children through the paid services of surrogate mothers? It is only the poor woman whose womb has been rented who will suffer the increased pain of childbearing. Are those women who hire wombs of the other women exempted from the curse that God pronounced on Eve? Is this, ‘rented womb’ technology, threatening to render the Bible obsolete? Mary the mother of Jesus was at most a surrogate mother because the Holy Spirit just implanted in her womb the blastocyst that grew up to be the baby boy Jesus Christ. Mary did not contribute the DNA, otherwise Jesus would have inherited the genes and hence the sin of Adam and Eve.
